I define myself as entrepreneurial-minded, actually I’ve been working on my own projects for the last months but I’m a recent college grad and bills don’t get paid by good ideas, attention, I accept failure but I’m not saying that this is the case, actually I picture myself working in a corporate environment as a very synergetic, win-win deal without forgetting my project goals … Therefore, I decided to apply for some jobs but when I get an interview I usually get some negative reactions when I say that I’m an entrepreneur, my vision on this is very different and I find lots of perks on hiring someone with this mindset.

Entrepreneurs see the big picture.

An entrepreneur has already faced the challenge to set a mission and define the strategy for their own business so they are very vision-driven and able to understand the whole structure of a company. They are able to manage budgets, teams, lead to innovation, create benchmarks and measure, as well as marketing and advertising.

Entrepreneurs take risks and move fast.

An entrepreneur knows well that stopping is dying so they move fast and are able to take some risks in order to keep on moving they aim for action not perfection.

Entrepreneurs value relationships.

An entrepreneur looks at everyone as a rich source of potencial, potencial client, partner, co-founder, co-everything because they know they need to connect with people, so they value their network and their relationships. This is not only a plus if they have access to decision makers but is very advantageous for the team building.

Entrepreneurs are passionate and ambitious.

An entrepreneur proactively seizes opportunities to make meaningful contributions without being asked, they learn how to pass the everyday barriers so they focus on the “big wins”. They are committed to defining and exceeding goals and are very passionate about business itself so they will do what it takes to succeed. They want to add value to each second of their existence so they are great value creators for organizations because they see it as a key step towards their goals.

Entrepreneurs are resourceful and flexible.

An entrepreneur has a wider skill set than average people because when people tend to get more specialized in a certain subject, entrepreneurs, in the other hand tend to expand their capabilities so they can manage all of the sections of their business consequently they are very flexible to adapt themselves into different positions.

Entrepreneurs are creative.

An entrepreneur has a creative mind, this is the most defining characteristic of an entrepreneur in the last decades, they can’t stop thinking in new ideas and how to make them real, always looking for improvement with a problem-solving mentality that goes way further than standards.

Entrepreneurs make great leaders.

An entrepreneur is a leader and all the features described before lead to this, they have a strategic thinking, capability to change and adapt, value the people they work with, they are driven, ambitious, hands-on managers and very creative.

Of course everyone is different but I think there’s no need to be afraid of entrepreneurs and give them a shot, both parts have a lot to learn and unlike most of the people, they are chasing their dreams so they are happier and feel more accomplished, doesn’t everyone wants to be surrounded by this energy?
