Building a network is crucial for every professional, and it’s the most valuable asset for your personal and project’s growth.

The “business card” old days are far back in the past and for sanitary reasons there’s no perspective of a comeback.

So here’s some tips on how to engage during this pandemic that has been setting us apart.

Join communities.

If you’re reading this on Reddit, good for you! Look for your niche and engage!

If not, think about join Reddit or any other community that fits your needs.

Online communities aren’t dead, the old forums were replaced by many bubbling communities field with very active, opinionated people, search your interests or needs and find a crowd ready to help.

Always rememberer to be truthful and add value!

Warm up your approach.

If a cold social media outreach strategy doesn’t match your profile or even your need, try to warm it up a little, look for friends of friends, establish a common ground a go from there.

Don’t start networking only when you need something, put yourself out there, show appreciation for the others’ work, create bounds and you’ll end up to be rewarded.

Find other 1 on 1 opportunity.

At last but not least and fortunately Covid wasn’t an excuse for many creative minds and startups that looked for ways to bring us closer, besides Zoom, Hangouts or any other meeting rooms you’ve might have entered on this past year, some cool stuff appeared, like this platform https://getwiser.net/platform, where you can connect easily with experts from all over the world, without the awkwardness of feeling like you’re bothering someone.

If after reading this, you’re still feeling like Covid is going to kill your social life, save the kisses, the hugs and the handshakes for later, enjoy the “pyjama bottoms” lifestyle while growing your contact list.
